European Master Drawings at the Louvre

Old European Master Drawings at the Louvre
The exhibition from 26 November 2009 through 22 February showcases four centuries of European Master Drawings.

The Georges Pébereau Collection not only includes many splendid examples of French drawing from the 17th to the 19th century, but also other outstanding works from abroad, notably from Germany, Britain, Denmark and Italy.

This presentation highlights collector Georges Pébereau's remarkable donation of drawings by Costa, Castiglione, Honthorst, Brébiette, Vouet, Tiepolo, Boilly and Victor Hugo to the Louvre's Department of Prints and Drawings.

The result is a marvellous opportunity for a fresh insight into more than four centuries of European drawing.
